FUMC Fort Worth Preschool & Parents’ Day Out

Check out our tour of FUMC in downtown Fort Worth, offering preschool and parents’ day out programs.

Here at the First Milestones, we love Parents’ Day Out and other part-time programs because they offer a structured way to socialize a child that may have only been in your family and your nanny’s care. These programs are often very inexpensive but offer so much enrichment and can help kids grow in ways that can only happen when kids are around other kids.

We took a tour of the FUMC preschool program this winter. Take a look:

FUMC Fort Worth Preschool and Parents’ Day Out

The First United Methodist Church (FUMC) located in downtown Fort Worth, at 800 W. 5th Street, offers a Parents’ Day Out and Preschool program. It’s highly regarded by many parents in the Fort Worth area and we loved it too when we toured.

FUMC Parents’ Day Out Program

Their PDO program is offered to children 3 months to 23 months on Sept. 1. You can choose from 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 days a week, and what we loved about these options is that you could choose ANY day to drop off. So, if you pay for 2 days a week, you can drop off any 2 days you prefer any given week. For example, this week you might opt for Mon, Tues, but next week you have an appointment on Wed., so your two days might be Mon, Wed.

The normal hours for PDO are 9:30 - 2:30, with before-care available starting at 8:30am.

FUMC Preschool

The FUMC Preschool program is available to kids who are 2, 3, 4 or 5 on Sept. 1. For the 2, 3 and 4 year olds', you can choose from T/Th, MWF, or 5 days. The offer a short day (9:30-12:30) or long day (nap till 2:30pm), and before-care is available starting at 8:30am.

We love the structure that’s provided around the children’s day. Each child is offered a “job” for the day, and each day is predictable, with signals for transition to the next activity.

FUMC also offers one-day-a-week activities like Yoga (provided by Yogi Squad), gymnastics (provided by Stretch-n-Grow), as well as enrichment in t Music, Science, Spanish, and Soccer.
